Long lines are used either as sub-surface lines for pelagic fish or on the bottom. Generally fishes caught on long lines have higher market value. Long lines can extend from several hundred meters to several kilo meters. Typical fish species caught on long lines are Halibut, Tuna, Sea, Bass, Shark, Sablefish and Cusk.

Reason for Using Mooring Tails Generally more elasticity is required when using mooring ropes. Tails can provide this elasticity which reduce the load induced by wire moorings when under dynamic loading.
